Daily Prayer

  • Galatians 3:24-26
So then, the law was our guardian until Christ came, in order that we might be justified by faith. But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian, for in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith.
Churches Together in Crowthorne
About Churches Together in Crowthorne

Churches Together in Crowthorne includes the Baptist Church, Methodist Church, the Roman Catholic Church, St. Sebastians and St. Johns. St. James, Finchampstead are also included in this group.

Representatives from each church meet three times a year and an A.G.M is held in September.

We hold joint services in the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity 18th – 25th January, on Good Friday, One World Week and other occasions. We are always welcome at each others services and join together for the Lent groups each year.

Coffee shops are held at the Methodist church on a Tuesday morning and the Baptist Church on a Thursday morning. Money raised from these is given to various charities and to sponsor young people from the churches when they go abroad with Christian organisations. A service is held at Pinehurst Rest Home once a month on a Sunday evening at 6.30 pm. This is led by members from different churches.

Christian Aid Week

The total collected from Christian Aid week amounted to £3,254.86 - a little less than last year but not a bad result. Thank you to everyone who supported this important cause. More collectors are needed for next year. Please contact Jim & Janet Sargeant on 780074.

Monthly service at Pinehurst
On the last Sunday evening of each month, representatives of the churches in Crowthorne lead a short act of worship for the residents of Pinehurst.  Between six and ten residents attend and a similar number of visitors, who take it in turn to lead the service, choosing the hymns and the style or theme.  The air of expectancy and joy in sharing time together is good.  It was extra special at the end of December when several of our Pathfinders led a post Christmas evening.  The mini doughnuts and mince pies were a treat too.

If you feel called to assist with the leadership of this activity, do have a word with the Vicar.
