Church Flower Arrangers

The church flower arrangers are a thriving and friendly group of individuals who enjoy the pleasure of enhancing our worship with beautiful flower arrangements. We arrange flowers throughout the year for the Sunday services, except during Lent and Advent. The whole church is decorated for the festivals of Easter, Harvest and Christmas, with special arrangements for the Patronal Festival, the Confirmation Service and Remembrance Sunday. We also do arrangements for wedding and funeral flowers as required.

The members of the Mother’s Union provide and arrange the flowers in the Lady Chapel to complement what flowers we have in the main church.

Currently, we have 23 people on our team with varying expertise in flower arranging. We always welcome new members, and those who are less confident are encouraged to work alongside the more experienced arrangers until they feel competent to work on their own. Many of us have been to local flower arranging classes in small groups and this has been very enjoyable. Flower arranging is a fun and artistic way to participate in the life of the church and get to know a few people better.

For anyone wishing to remember a loved one on their anniversary, birthday or other special date we are happy to arrange flowers of their choice on the Remembrance Table or the Altar. These donations greatly help in allowing us to be able to provide arrangements all year round.

One of the highlights for the flower arrangers is the Crowthorne Carnival Flower Festival which is held in our church bi-annually.This is a community event which gives us, as a church, a great opportunity to welcome many hundreds of visitors through our doors. We are also able to make a substantial amount of money for our chosen charity. This year we made £3,300 for Daisy’s Dream a local charity supporting bereaved children and their families. The next flower festival will be in July 2014.  The church flower arrangers annual meeting is held every January, anyone interested in joining us should contact us around that time of year. Contact details may be found on the "How to contact us" page.
