  • Galatians 3:24-26
So then, the law was our guardian until Christ came, in order that we might be justified by faith. But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian, for in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith.

About the Mothers' Union

The Mothers Union here at St John’s is part of a huge world wide organisation, with 3.6 million members in 78 countries, including Iraq, where at St George’s church in Baghdad there are 1500 members - the Mothers Union is the main organisation working for the people there.

We have different types of membership; branch, for those members who can meet regularly, and diocesan, for people who are keen to be involved but find meetings on a regular basis difficult.

In Crowthorne, we have a variety of meetings, as well as helping within the church and our local community. Our prayer group meets monthly and we celebrate corporate communion on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 10am.

We are a very friendly branch and our strength is in our support for each other, so please join us.

For more information on our diocesan concerns see our website www.muoxford.co.uk.

July News

On June 21st Joan Colyer held a coffee morning which raised £145.50 for The Wheels Appeal (Cakes for Brakes) – Thank you Joan.

On July 6th at 8pm we will be holding our Social Evening and on July 14th at 2.15pm we will be holding our Garden Party – both events will take place in the Church Hall.  Members, their husbands and invited guests are most welcome.  Please contact me if you haven’t already let me know that you will be joining us.

I would like to say a big thank you on behalf of MU members to Margaret Barnes who has been a fantastic branch leader for the past 6 years working tirelessly on our behalf.  Margaret stepped down at the AGM on June 1st and the new branch leader is Carol Frost.

I wish you all a good summer and look forward to seeing you at either of the above events.
