PRESS RELEASE FOR MARTYN JOSEPH

International folk singer-songwriter, Martyn Joseph, plays in Wokingham as part of the Autumn Series at All Saints Church.

September 14, 2018 - Martyn Joseph, the international folk singer-songwriter, is back on the road this Autumn with a brand new album ‘Here Come The Young’ (out end of October) and will be playing All Saints Church in Wokingham on Friday, November 30th.

You cannot fail to be moved by the magic of his story-telling and musicianship. His songs of social justice, ranging from the Welsh valleys to the hills of Palestine, will get your head thinking and your heart moving. As the Boston Globe commented: “A profound experience.”

As part of the tour, Martyn will be playing at All Saints Church, Wokingham, as part of their Autumn series.  All Saints has previously hosted the likes of Martin Simpson, one of the finest acoustic and slide guitar players in the world, BBC Radio 2 award-winners Edgelarks and the innovative Gigspanner, formed by Steeleye Span’s Peter Knight.

Martyn Joseph is an award-winning, guitar player with a powerful show-stopping voice. He has built a reputation as a mesmerising live performer. BBC Radio 2’s Bob Harris observed that “Martyn is one of our most intelligent writers. He gets better and better like the finest of wines.”

He has toured in the USA, Canada and Europe with Art Garfunkel, Jools Holland, Ani DiFranco, Suzanne Vega, Mike and The Mechanics, Joan Armatrading, Celine Dion and Shirley Bassey.

Q Magazine: "One of acoustic music’s most original voices, and most forward looking of his generation of singer/songwriters”.

Tom Robinson of BBC Radio 6 Music: “One of the most charismatic and electrifying performers in Britain today.”
